Master Power Window Switch Wiring Diagram

Hey everyone,

I am working on a full interior swap and am currently swapping the door panels in my second gen out for the third gen door panels, but before going any further, I am in the process of getting the third gen master window switch to work on my second gen, the connection is the exact same but, not all the pins in the second gen connector line up with the third gen master window switch. I found a 2016 tacoma in a scrap yard and took its master window switch connector, now I have a third gen connector with all of the pins lining up to the third gen master window switch. I was hoping someone out there had the wiring diagrams for master window switch connector on both the second and third gen tacomas. I figured since the feautures on the window switch remain the same, up/down for all 4 windows, lock/unlock doors and windows and they both have the same current from my research, I should be able to connect the appropriate wires to make the thing work. Currently if you just plug the third gen master window switch into the second gen connector some buttons work, the back right window goes down like normal and comes up with front passenger button(weird I know, but exciting), the truck unlocks, and the windows lock. This leads me to believe that I should be able to just connect the appropriate wires together to make the thing work. So with that being said, if anyone has the wiring diagrams for both the second and third gen master window switch connector and can share them, that would be much appreciated.

Here you go, looks like there's 2 different switches for 2016. The one with jam protection definitely wouldn't work as it's just a logic circuit that commands the motors, power for the front windows goes directly to the motors and the switch just commands them.
The switch without jam protection looks like it might work if it was pinned correctly but I didn't dig too deep into it to be sure.

 

Caribe would you know the wire colors on a 2020 sr5 at the actual drivers window switch. Looking for drivers window only.

1.Key on 12 volt color?

I do not, but I think they have not changed. Multimeter is a best friend. BTW the KEY 12v would be the 30 amp fuse wire, position #7. (with out Jamming Protection window type)

drivers switch. Pink/blue motor up, Pink/brownish motor down, 12 volt white



Passenger switch is almost the same except down is pink/yellow

 

So your window switch diagram appears to be them same at the switch

 

So it has not changed...

 

I am having a wiring issue with my 2011 Tacoma Double Cab master window switch. One of the wires shorted out and the windows work intermittently. Is there a place that sells the master window switch harness already pre-wired? TIA

I ordered 90980-12122 and it was only the plastic retainer housing, it did not come pre-wired.

 

hey guys, i actually have a 3rd gen 4runner that i absolutely cannot find any diagram for the drivers door wiring that has any kind of detail as the ones posted in this thread. my truck is a 1998 so its way older than the tacomas yall were discussing but do you happen to know where i could find the same kind of diagram for my vehicle or do you know if there is tacoma model that would match the 4runner for 98? any help yall could provide would be amazing! thanks in advance!

Thank you very much for those diagrams they are very helpful. The image for the double cab 3rd gen power window switch thats got the picture of the wires coming from the back of the junction and then the 2 ways to look at the colors of the wires is really what i need. im trying to learn the electrical system but i haven't learned enough yet to really be able to read or make sense of just the diagrams. our power lock and power window switch had a short and kinda melted parts of the junction connector so it had to be replaced and im struggling to put the wires back into the proper spots in the connector so that when i plug it into the master switch it will work.

If you have that kind of info for the 3rd gen 4runner limited 2wd or know where i might be able to find that set of images i would greatly appreciate it because i have been looking online for while and have not had any luck.

i was wondering about this kinda image for a 98 4runner. its cool if its not something you got on hand cus i know this is a tacoma forum ive just been looking on this site alot cus theres a lot of useful info for toyotas in general
