So has anyone ever rebuilt the master cylinder off of a 2012 off road? I am throwing the “master cylinder pressure sensor zero point high code #c1422
I would replace it but they are stupid expensive. Also I hear you have to take them in and get it calibrated. Is that true?

I'm guessing it's different than the attached to the brake pedal one in my 07. If it's the same, prepare yourself for a difficult task. I don't remember a pressure sensor so probably different animals.

OP, here is what Toy's tech training guide has to say:
    http://www.ttguide.net/master_cylinder_pressure_sensor_zero_point_high_malfunction_c1422_-646.html
I have the same unit on mine but also have the techstream that is discussed. I had the pressure problem you described at one time after manually bleeding the brakes. The techstream has a feature on it that allows internal bleeding back to the the controller.
If this were mine, before an expensive replacement I would have the unit bled by a techstream. Obviously a dealer item but there are many clones out there so you might find someone set up by visiting your local forum. If you are close I would do it for you but you do not list your location.
