I slightly stripped one of the mass airflow sensor screws a while back. Still works, but I'd like to replace the screw and have some spares, cause I clean it twice a year. I just found out that some or all of the screws on a Tacoma are JIS Japanese standard which explains why they are so easy to strip with an American screw driver. Got some JIS screwdrivers on the way now.

Does anyone know the exact screw size for the MAF sensor?

This is the MAF itself but I don't see any mention of the screws:

The air cleaner parts diagram also doesn't mention screws either:

I took 1 of mine to HD and found a Allen bolt. Been ok for 2 years. Easy to remove/install for MAF cleaning.

This is good to know. Replacement mounting screws do not come with a new Denso MAF from RockAuto. Ask me how I know. :(

I like the idea of allen bolts too. I'm going to do this too since I remove them often.

I replaced mine years ago with allen bolts also. It was hard getting a standard length screw driver in there. I had to always use a shorty screw driver to get the right angle to keep from striping it. Now with a small allen wrench its easier.

JIS screwdrivers (which are really ISO/DIN these days as the Japan Industrial Standard has been retired, I believe) make a big difference on those MAF sensor screws.

Note the distinctive dot on the screwhead designating it as JIS.

I really like my Vessel Megadora screwdrivers. They’re about all I use anymore, on any crosshead screw of any type.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I am pretty sure I replaced them with hex head M4 bolts out of my bolt bin.

I would need to double check for the thread pitch.

Thanks. Googled the size and found them at Home Depot for $1.25 for a pack of 2.
