Why does everyone suggest mass airflow sensor cleaner for cleaning cleaning mass airflow sensor and would cleaning with electric parts cleaner be a problem even though it states “no residue”?

I would definitely use the MAF cleaner in this case

I did use the correct cleaner but more wondering why not or shouldn’t use electric part cleaner? Or if anybody has used electrical parts cleaner with negative effects on airflow sensor. Is it the chemical composition? Somebody asked me I couldn’t answer now I’m wondering if it’s a gimmick basically.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The electrical Cleaner in most cases is the same chemical mix as Brake Clean.

Much to harsh for the fine MAF sensor elements.

This was a talk at the autoparts store years ago. comparing the spec sheets on all the above.

Things forever change this might no longer hold true.

Was curious and pulled the MSDS on both:
    electronics cleaner - http://docs.crcindustries.com/msds/5018.pdf
    maf cleaner - https://www.msdsdigital.com/gunk-mass-air-flow-sensor-cleaner-msds

electronics cleaner is mostly Tetrachloroethylene, which is some nasty stuff. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrachloroethylene
Since mass air sensors get hot, and that stuff oxidizes into phosgene gas, thats probably a bad thing. Just a guess. It might also do terrible things to the sensor.

The MAF cleaner is mostly heptane: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heptane
    Its much more well behaved.

You can shoot me but I used to use brake cleaner with no harmful effects and the vehicles went on for another 10 years. Now I only use MAF cleaner because the innerwebs says to...
