I was at Toyota of Corona yesterday after they notified me that a cement colored Off-Road had arrived. So online they said the vehicle was being sold at $44,951, which wasn’t going to happen for me. But I went and checked it out, test drove it and was ready to negotiate. Then I noticed the dealer “Market Adjustment” sticker. They bumped up the price another $7,795. Now they were asking $49,915. I laughed and told them that was ridiculous. Especially for that Tacoma, with very limited options that I never wanted anyway. I told them I wasn’t paying basically $15k over their invoice. Well, to make a long story short, I walked out after they turned down my very fair offer of $40k OTD. Oh well, the hunt continues, but this market is a joke right now.

The market will continue this until people stop paying these prices.
I’m betting that truck gets sold with in 2 weeks. Which will only contribute to the current market trend staying where it is.

I sure hope my 2nd Gen last through this crazy market. :annoyed::fingerscrossed:

Every dealer in Riverside County is trash. Literally skip all of them. Don't waste your time.

That’s absurd… that dealership does the same thing here in Colorado. Im surprised they even gave you a price online.. I went to a dealership 2 weeks ago that did the same thing but didn’t even bother putting that price adj. on the window. I found out when I told them I was ready to buy at window price (wasn’t even going to haggle). Walked out immediately.. Ended up finding a ‘21 OR DCLB w/ Tech package for MSRP+fees/handling a few days later. Set to arrive 7/12-19. Long week ahead of me. Best of luck to you on your hunt!

Supply and demand! The same market mechanisms that enable you to pay below sticker most of the time is causing markups above sticker. I mean you aren't living in a commie state, so...
