Does anyone know who the manufacturer of the 2016 Tacoma's tonneau cover is? I have a broken piece that I want to replace. At the hinge for the 2nd and 3rd segments, there is a short piece on the right and left sides that seals between the segments. One of those pieces broke off. It appears to be replaceable as it is held in with two screws. I would like to replace mine but cannot figure out who manufactures the cover.

I have the same issue with mine.

I bought the extended warranty and I'm wondering if this is covered?

My piece just seem to crack off for no reason. I noticed it yesterday.

I may be wrong, but I am sure a few people on this forum posted that the Extang tonneau cover was the same cover that supplied Toyota with the factory covers.
    (Apologies if I am wrong)

I stopped in at the dealership today. They will order the part and cover it under warranty. The part number for the "seal" is 64975 for the right side and 64976 for the left (as best I can tell from the printed page of the parts catalog that they gave me). I asked them who the manufacturer is for the tonneau cover. They said that Toyota is very secretive about third-party manufactures of parts for their vehicles. They think it is "ASC"....based on a UPC sticker on the middle panel. However, I have been looking on the web for over an hour and cannot find any company or brand that makes an ASC tonneau cover. In an earlier post, Samchieftan said he thinks it is an Xtang cover, I have looked at all of their types available and not look like the one on the 2016 Tacoma. I used a barcode scanner app to scan the barcode sticker....all I got was a web page in Japanese...not much help.

ASC (aka American Specialty Cars) seems like a likely source. They mostly do convertable conversions for manufacturers (every single Camry Solara convertable for example) and they only deal with manufacturers. Convertable conversions are the lion's share of their business, but they do other OEM projects as well. If they are the ones making the tonneau the only way you're ever getting spare parts is either through Toyota or you go get a job with ASC and start smuggling parts out in your lunchbox.

Thanks Smugly. That is great information. I had never heard of ASC....and now i know why. Plus it makes sense with what the dealership was telling me.

Is there any adjustment available on the stock cover? I have a little loose rear corner.

Not sure what you mean by "loose", but mine would allow a finger between the tail gate and the cover. I realized if I pushed down on the rear corners, you could hear a "click" and then could no longer get a finger in between. So basically, it was not fully latched. I have not checked for any adjustment yet. I will take a look this week.

I am wanting to know if the pins that the latch grasps are adjustable like a door striker would be.

I like the factory cover but they dont have one for the long bed. I like the latch system and seems pretty solid.

I have the same issue with my cover sealing on the corners. The dealership changed the rear seal but, still no luck. Once I close the tailgate, it lifts the corners. The dealership tried removing the shims on the cover latches but, that didn't work. It does seem as though the pins should be adjustable but, they said they are not. Toyota is looking into a fix...

It's a two stage latch, to get full seal on the back I need to lower the tailgate first, slam the tonneau shut, then put the tailgate back up. Sits dead flat that way. Works fine I guess, if you're into that sort of thing, rather not have the damn thing at all though.

I am not getting a second "click" when closing my cover, no matter how I close it.

I went thru pep boys with a crap magnet, got it all
I put a couple 12" bungies on the rear corners to the factory tie downs. I added one up from so I don't need that silly bolt.It is water tight.Took it thru the car wash, it is now water tight. Not a drop inside.
