Ive tried heating, penetrating lube, vice grips...etc. Anyone have a slick idea on how to remove these stubborn little bastards?

    Thanks,

    Just how bad is it??

Can it be dressed enough to go back together ??

I think it is more of an Assembly line item to keep the weight off the front shaft and help align things till the bolts are installed.

Worse case cut it off and be done .

A dowel pin or alignment pin is designed to keep the crankshaft and input shaft in perfect alignment , This stops abnormal wear from happening

Tightening the bolts without the alignment dowels can cause damage

OP ..... measure the OD of the alignment dowel then get a bolt same dia then cut the bolt at the head and reuse the shank of the bolt as your new dowel pin

Did you try using grease from grease gun and force grease into the blind hole the dowel is pressed into , then tap the dowel with hammer ????

This will allow the dowel pin to pop out

appreciate the input, but if you have ever seen these transmissions none of this will work. I'm working on another idea, but otherwise im welding on a nut and working it out.

I must be real lucky I have over 100,000 miles with both dowel pins cut off.

It was like that when I pulled the Transmission after I first got the truck

Use a set of side cut wire cutters. Grip it at the bottom, pivot the handles to draw it out.
