    If you make six of these from the six foot stake, each tool will cost about $0.50 each. These would make awesome gifts for the mechanic that has everything! ;)

    There is a tool on the market (Schley 68450) that costs about $30 on Tooltopia and chances are if you needed one, you're going to have it shipped overnight or two day depending on how quickly you needed it. So your costs will easily close in on $50 or higher. ;)

    The other options are to pick at fused boot with various tools like screwdrivers, long nosed needle pliers, picks, chisels, etc. Some will even go as far as snapping the insulator off of the spark plug to hopefully get access for the spark plug socket. Add in more time to get the shop vac out to hopefully suck up all the debris so nothing falls inside the cylinder. The added frustration and time to work that boot out will put some close to blowing their lid...until they find out there are more fused boots to deal with. ;)
