Maintenance required soon????

So I did a light amount of trail blazing yesterday. Went through some mud here and there and everything went great no issues at all when all of a sudden after I power washed the undercarriage of the truck I get an alert on the truck when I start it up? “Maintenance required soon” But it goes away after the truck starts like nothing is wrong?? Did I spray something to hard?? It’s brand new (to me)

 

Oil change tire rotation that’s it. Turns on every 5k miles, 500 miles before each 5k mark to be precise.

 

Ok so I didn’t break a sensor or anything like that?

 

You're next maintenance is scheduled at 30k. If it's not reset, then it will give you a stronger push at 30k.

 

No, not likely, just a coincidence. Take a deep cleansing breath. Drink water. You'll be fine.

 

Ok It was probably just perfect timing that freaked me out

 

Literally just did the same thing in mine, with 4600 miles on it. Totally thought I jacked up my new truck.

 

That would freak me out too. I usually break something every time I do something. I would be pissed for days thinking I messed up something, then run to the dealer.

 

I keep track of my own maintenance schedule, so I just go to the combo meter controls on the steering wheel and reset the warning.

 

That is first initial reminder. It will come on again and stay on longer until you reset

 

Why does my maintenance come on every 10k? It only came on for the very first 5k....then every 10k after.

 

That'd be something new perhaps. Mine hascso far came on before 5,000 again at 10,000 and again at 15,000. Mine however did not come on when I just past 20,000 this last week. I'm sure that is because the last 20,000 Mile Toyota care service was done early just before 18,000 miles before my 2 year plan expiration and they reset the counter then.

 

Mine came on at 15k for the oil change and tire rotation....all recieved emails from car fax for the same.

 

I really like how you can keep your maintenance records in carfax and I did it with my last car but one thing I discovered is if you sell the vehicle all the self entered history is deleted when you remove that Vin from your carfax account. None of it stays except what shops enter. So that info doesn't get passed to the next owner. On my Jeep I had over a decade of repair and maintenance history over half put in by me with scanned invoices uploaded. I can see removing things that would have my name or address but leaving the outline of work done, but they don't.
