Aside from needing to get an oil change, is there any other reason why this Maint Req'd light would go on?

It dutifully started flashing after my truck went 4500 miles past its last oil change. However, after I got the oil change done and reset my mileage counter like how I always do, it still continued to flash (and now it's always on) during start-up. Is this just a faulty sensor or is this some other vehicular problem/maintenance need I'm just not aware of?

Unfortunately, it didn't work. According to the instructions on the linked page, while depressing the reset button, the "odometer display should come up with a series of dashes that disappear one by one. When they've all disappeared, a series of zeros will display." I didn't see anything like that. The odometer reading on either Trip A or Trip B just continued to statically display the same number no matter how long I have the button depressed. Of course, I can hit the reset button again and that would make either Trip A or Trip B go to zero, but, as I mentioned in my post, that action isn't causing the Maint Reqd light to turn off like it should.

    1. Place key to the ACC position.
    2. Set Trip Odo to A
    3. Place key to OFF position.
    4. Press and hold the Trip Odo button.
    5. While holding Trip Odo button, place key to ACC position.
    6. Continue holding the button until the zeros reset. Mainly light is now reset.

Well, I hit the reset button in Trip A, and it went to 0.0. Is that not resetting the mileage counter?

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Is this a troll? The answer is no, resetting the trip counter does not reset your light.

What are you talking about? I never said that. I reset my trip counter to zero is what I said.

You have no idea how many times I did it on ODO on my '11, and how pissed I was that it kept not working. Every Toyota I worked on was like that, and everything I was seeing said to do it that way.

Then I finally stumbled on one freaking thread that mentioned they changed it for '11 to use Trip A instead. :homer: I love me some Toyota, but WTF.
