Just wondering if it's normal,I have 4600 miles on my truck, I'm getting my first oil change, this weekend. today the maintenance required light started flashing briefly when I start my truck. it eventually goes out I will have it checked by the dealer this weekend during my free oil change, just wondering if it's just flashing because I'm approaching 5000 miles,or, could it be something else to worry about?

Yep its set to go off roughly every 4600 miles to remind you to change the oil. Youre fine. The dealer will reset the light

some of this, a little of that
it is just remining you that it's time for an oil change. Check your manual it's in there as well as how to reset it if you do your own oil changes.

It's just a reminder that you are getting close to oil change time. When you get to 5K it will stay illuminated.

    Just like others said
if you do your changes the reset procedure is pretty easy. I have it written down but I think you just hold the trip button and turn key to on. Keep holding the button until it sequences through all the lights.

Owner's manual - will tell you why it's flashing, why it's about to stay constant on, and how to turn it off.

There is a lot more good information in the owners manual and service schedule.

    Check them out.

When you hit the 5k mark the light will stay on till it is reset after your oil change.
My wife's rav4 light normally stays on until I drive the car, notice the light is on and make an appointment for an oil change lol
