Maintenance required light different from a check engine light?

I have had my 2017 for about a week now in the maintenance required warning is on. Is that different than the check engine light?

 

Yes, just means you're due for a scheduled service. Check engine light is a different one and indicates a problem.

Maintenance light is triggered by your mileage.

Okay is there a way to shut it off or reset it

 

On the screen that's between your tachometer and speedometer, navigate to the Settings tab. In one of the sub-menus there, you'll find an option to reset the maintenance which disables the light and warning for another 5k miles.
