I looked it up yours is the shorter 18" core, I could see it being louder. The other one mentioned is a 24" core. The one I'm thinking of getting is a 27" core #12761. My deal is I hate the looks of the factory wye, the tubing is pinched down and restrictive looking. I'm thinking of taking it out and running 2 1/4 from each side into this dual inlet muffler and then tie the factory tailpipe back into it. My thinking is if lots of people like the 24" core that maybe the 27" will even be quite a bit quiter, I'd like it as quite as is is factory but know that's not going to happen with a non baffled muffler. There is also a #12762 and it has a 30" core but 2 1/2" inlet and a big 3" outlet; it would also work but don't really want to have to swedge all 3 connections. I wonder if a 12761 has been put on a Taco before?

most people that don't want a loud muffler get the 12586, which is a 22" muffler and 11" wide, while 12256 is 18" long and 8" wide.
