Does the wiring from the ECU to the MAF go through any kind of relay or anything? Or is it just a straight shot from one to the other?

I feel like I'm having some kind of MAF problem.

I put on a New headgasket and a used Ecu. Every since then the truck has had a low rpm lag in acceleration. Very strange and it's random, doesn't do it all the time or all that often even. Fuel pressure is good, timing is right.

Got a p0100 code. Truck would start and run for a couple seconds and die. I put on a new oem MAF sensor. It runs fine and code is gone but the acceration lag is still there.

I replaced the MAF pigtail because I thought it may be a bad connection, but that didn't help the acceleration lag.

I'm about to break out the Meter and check the wiring for continuity and such from the ecu to the MAF. If I find something I would like to run new wires for it.

I'm guessing I have a wiring problem or an ecu problem. My old ecu wasn't firing the #4 injector is why I replaced it.

    Any ideas?

Did you get your throttle cable adjusted correct ??

Is this lag there when starting out in first gear from a stop sign in a normal fashion??

Just when do you experience this ?? in third gear trying to accelerate from 1000 rpm??

If the code has not tripped again the light remains off with engine running Your MAF sensor circuit is fine.

No other codes have since appeared ??

No other codes. The p0100 did trip again the other day but it caused the same issue as before (truck wouldn't even remain idling). This was after the new oem MAF and pigtail. It also did this while driving and would only let the truck idle while running 60mph. Apply any throttle and it would try to kill/bog it. This was with the new oem MAF but before I did the MAF pigtail replacement.

It's not when I start accelerating. If I take off from a stop sign it may get to 2k rpm and then it's like it hits a wall and won't build more rpm even with foot on the floor. Then all of a sudden it acts fine and starts pulling/accelerating.

It seems to do it worse when coasting with the clutch in to turn onto another road. Clutch in, coasting, 2nd gear, turn, let out on clutch and apply throttle and it starts to accelerate and hits the wall, then eventually pulls like normal.

It's for sure not normal. Never had any issues like this in the 225,000 miles before the head gasket replacement. It's totally random and doesn't do it a lot, and the truck runs superb other than that.

I was going thinking MAF, MAF wiring, ecu/ecm, egr, tps, clogged cat, fuel delivery (think I've ruled that out but it's a random thing so maybe not).
