I'm getting ready to install a Sony XAV-9000es in my 2015 Tacoma (non Jbl). I've read through the long older thread about people installing the idatalink Maestro in 2nd gens and came across 3 common potential issues:

    1. Parking brake
    2. Reverse camera
    3. Factory microphone

It seems like no one has gotten the factory mic to work with the Maestro, while some have the parking brake/reverse camera issues and others don't. I'm wondering if this is dependent on the head unit. Seems like a lot of the people in that thread were using Kenwoods but im wondering if anyones installed the Maestro with a Sony XAV-9000es or a similar Sony head unit. I'd like to wire up/solder my harnesses and get it all pretty looking ahead of time so I can then just plug it in once I'm in my truck, however if these issues are pretty much guaranteed I'd rather adjust the wiring accordingly ahead of time instead of having to troubleshoot and redo the wiring a bunch times.

    UPDATE:

Well I just installed the radio and everything worked completely fine, plug and play including the backup camera (minus factory mic). No custom flashing or rewiring methods required. I did ground the parking brake line from the radio. The previous posted issues must be with either other brand/model radios or they maybe iDatalink addressed these issues now?

Oh man I didn’t know those existed. I was trying to dremel down the mic that came with the radio so it would fit in the factory location but I accidentally cut part of the wire. I failed stripping and soldering it back together as the inner strand is so incredibly thin. I already ordered an Amazon one which look like it should fit better but this one obviously would be perfect, might have to get this one.
