Hello all, I recently installed 285/70/17 tires with Method 305. I also installed the 12 x 1.5 mm lug nuts from Method. I’m reaching the 100 mile mark where the lug nuts need to be re-torqued. Saw on tirerack that the range should be 70-80. I asked the shop that did the install and they’re recommending 110. I’d appreciate your inputs on what the correct number should be.

83 is factory, but I would probably go 100. At this point you are checking the torque and probably not turning anything.

if your using stock keeps it at the stock 83/85. The one time I let someone else balance and torque the wheels down....... a couple of months later 4/5 studs sheared off and had a lug nut holding the wheel on. This was likely due to over torquing.

    over-torquing will stretch the studs.

May not want to go back to that shop.

I torque to 85 per factory and never had an issue. I would absolutely not overtorque, that's how you stretch and weaken studs.

83 ft-lb per the owner's manual. Don't go higher or you can break wheel studs; they're only equivalent to SAE grade 5 strength. I broke one because the crappy Capri torque wrench didn't click if cranked too slowly...

Thank You all for your responses. I appreciate it. I went ahead and set it at 83/85 as most of you had recommended. However on my drive back home, I started feeling the steering wheel shake after driving over 55 mph. I’ll see if the issue still persists. I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed. Any recommendations on the tire pressure? Considering the shop over torqued the lug nuts, I seriously doubt if they set up the correct tire pressure as well. Thank You all once again for taking your time to reply.

Put it around 32. Also, it's possible they didn't balance the tires correctly which is a common steering wheel shaking issue.

I just hit them with the impact gun and don't think about it. Never had warped rotors etc etc.

Thank You for the reply. On a side note, I have Bilstein 6112 on the front and am experiencing a slight rubbing on the front bumper side. I was thinking about going with a viper cut on the front bumper. Do you have any recommendations before I go ahead with the cut?

You've got the right idea. Just cut shit out of the way until it stops rubbing.
