Lucas 85-140 in cold climates

It was recommended I use 85/140 non synthetic for the rear diff after re-gearing. I live in Canada and I’m wondering if anyone had issues with it in the winter.

 

technically 85w-140 and 85w-90 gear oil will have the same cold weather properties, I wouldnt be too concerned. Though unless you are heavy towing never saw the need for the 85w-140.

ECGS recommends Lucas 85-140, however Lucas 80-90 in cold climates.

 

Thank you. Have you ran Lucas 80-90 with nitro gears? If so, is the noise any better than 75-90 synthetic?

 

This is what ECGS says about gear oil. Nope, never used Lucas 80-90.
