Who makes the lowest/slimmest platform camper/topper on the market?

Trying to find one 27" or lower from the bed rail so it'll fit in my garage without lowering my ride height.

    From what I've gathered online...

    SuperPacific: 28.625"
Topo Toppers: I've heard 28" but also 29"
    GFC: 29"
    Vagabond Drifter: 31"

    Any others that are lower?

I mean...if it's a cab-height topper it's gonna be the same height as your cab. Maybe I'm not understanding but it seems pretty simple in my mind

Topper/camper/platform/whatever people are calling these things. I wish they didn't all sit so high above the cab. I'd gladly trim down the sharkfin to get a lower overall height.

Roger that my mistake. I don't know what those things are called but I was thinking about a Leer/ARE/Snugtop type topper

I'd love to have one, but I don't think they were ever made for 5' beds. Also, not sure I want a used camper with questionable parts availability.

I wish I had the time or resources for that. Though it might be worth looking for a local fabricator to make a low version of the DIY platform topper in this forum.

Why does no one make a modern Wildernest or something similar?? I know the garagability (new word?) or lack thereof keeps a lot of folks from purchasing a platform camper, so there's definitely a market for it.

Ideally, I'd really like a cleaner, fully enclosed version of my current rack/tent combo. A cab-height shell/integrated RTT that opens sideways, giving max interior room, would be the best of all worlds, especially once you add an annex. IMO, anyway.

I don't like how the front/back are open on this setup though, nor do I like the gaps between the RTT and the rack side cabinets into the bed. The RTT being a few inches narrower than the rack also bugs me.

End rant. Anyone else know of any low profile platform campers?

now i never claimed it was reasonably priced...

but yes 15k is excessive. wish their base model was just the shell with sleeping setup, no raised floor/build out situation.

If you use kb vudoo bed rails it may help lower the height of the camper over cab

just make sure to double check that it will still fit with aftermarket rails. I have the kb voodoo rails and the Super Pacific needs a spacer, otherwise the tabs designed into the camper wont let it fit properly

I was just talking about this subject to my son-in-law today...during out 250+ mile trek from Dover, DE to Ocean City, MD to Wilmington, DE then back to Dover.

Campers aren't allowed in our development but my SIL said, find one that fits in your garage and you won't have to worry about it.

    This is a great idea!!!

My driveway is too short and too steep to store a trailer. Hence, find a pop-up that's as close to 20' tongue-to-spare as possible, and will still clear a 7 foot door.

That was my goal in 2017. It's a good choice. Even if the fiancee who moved in a couple years later still has to park outside.

My 2-car garage is roughly 233 inches...or about 19.41 feet deep!

Door height is about 82 inches...or about 6.83 feet.

    That's just a guesstimate...but what a tight squeeze!
