Hi everybody, what kind of options are there for lowering a 23 Tacoma,I've seen kits for 3.5 in the front and 4 in the rear. Is this the standard setup for lowering a Tacoma?

Where are you seeing kits for '24 Tacomas?

And there is a 4th gen forum, which is what a '24 is.

Meant 23. I'll be looking at a new Tacoma and the determining factor of whether or not I buy one is if I can lower it or not and get it as low as I want it. Everything I own is lowered pretty much, nothing is stupid drag shit on the ground lowered, just very little gap between the tire, fender. So far all I've seen are 3 front and 4 rear. Is this the max anybody makes for these, any coil over applications? Thanks to all for any positive info.

How about not lowering? I should take this taco away from you and give it to someone.

    Why not?

98.75 % of the lift/big tire/black wheel/light bar crowd don't need any of it for how they use the truck. They just like the look.

then keep it stock. i don't see the point in going lower. kind of defeats the purpose. lifting it doesn't improve off-road performance unless you add bigger wheels. and if you add bigger wheels then you are going to be super slow unless you regear.

Start by using a 255 80 17 or 255 85 16 tire on wheels with the same specs as your OE wheels.

That will fill a lot of wheel well with no massaging needed.

Ease of access, lower CQ, better handling, because its his truck and he wants too.

Why does it need to be a basic truck? Access cab,V6 and keyless entry are what I'm looking at,I'd go for a standard cab but that's not possible,I'd like a MT and a sunroof but don't want to spec the options just to get those features. Not sure on color, maybe Ice White. I can understand some not seeing the reasoning in lower something, pretty much the same mindset as people that jack a truck sky high and put on polished wheels and short tires. If my plan comes together this little truck will be bad ass.
