On the 4.0L V-6 1 GRFE how many bolts secure the lower manifold to the head? I had a packrat living in my truck for a couple days and I'm 90% sure it chewed my knock sensor wires. I have followed some of the awesome knock sensor replacement threads on here, but now I've hit a road block. I have taken 8 12mm bolts of my lower manifold, but the manifold will not come off and I'm wondering whether I missed a bolt or whether I have to try and pry the manifold off.

If anyone else has their check engine light come on for bad knock sensors/wires I'll provide a rough how to guide in a few days.

Thanks again! Do you happen to know what the torque spec for the 4 8mm Hex bolts and 2 nuts for the upper manifold is?

Sweet! Thanks for the torque spec sheet as well. I'll get a lot of use out of that!

I know this is an older thread but maybe Ill still get an answer. I was wondering if anyone had any trouble getting the lower manifold to lift out. I got all 10 bolts and I can move it around so I know it's loose. Something is holding it on the corner closest to me on the left though. I just don't want to pry on it too hard and damage anything so I figured I'd ask.. Thanks
