    Hey all,

I was detailing my truck today and checking the fluid levels, and I noticed that the clutch fluid was low : 256fcd840d808143dea52c01dbf09256_336915889652300f8fc4881c9bb9171702a68d2f.jpg

It's not below the minimum, but it's semi close. I haven't experienced any issues with my transmission or with shifting, and I also do not have any fluids leaking from my truck. Can I just top it off?

That is your BRAKE reservoir. It gets low for only 2 reasons, you might have a leak in the Brake lines, caliper or rear brake expander, or it's time to replace the pads. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING BUT DOT4 BRAKE FLUID TO IT! Your tranny has nothing to do with it.

Sorry I wasn't more specific, the picture I posted is of my clutch reservoir, the braking and clutch petal systems are separate

Still the same fluid, Tranny has nothing to do with it except pushing in the clutch. DOT 4. Same rule tho, it may be that the pressure plate/clutch is getting worn, causing the fluid to drop. Scared the heck out of me thinkin you would put in Transmission fluid (Either kind). As for the ABS light, what code is showing?

Yeah no ATF in those reservoirs :). I will top off clutch reservoir tomorrow with DOT 4. I was a little hard on my clutch a week ago going up some steep grade on bigger rocks, so that may be a contributing factor. I drove over 200 miles after that with no issues with shifting, etc. So I think all I need is to refill it.

In terms of the ABS light, the code that is being thrown is C0215/34, for the left rear wheel sensor. I cleaned the sensors and the casing on the rear axle and checked the wires. I am thinking that I may need to replace the sensor entirely.

As the brake pads ware the calipers fill with fluid to make up for the space of the pad ware it is normal for the fluid level to drop it also is a good way to let you know it's time to checks the front brakes. Many people make the mistake of filling the cylinder only to have the fluid over flow when the brake pads are replaced.

That makes sense, thank you for the response. My actual brake fluid reservoir is at the normal level

Do yourself a favor and flush/bleed the clutch master/slave cylinder. That fluid should be gold’ish. While you have it drained down clean all the algae off the side of the reservoir.

2 places it can leak are around the master/slave pistons, worth some investigation. I have rebuilt them (there is an OEM kit), but the Denso replacements seem exactly the same as the originals as well.
