    Hey guys,

I am running BFG AT KO2 285s on my 2010 Tacoma Double Cab with a level kit with Bilstein 5100s. I did it myself a year ago but did not replace the upper control arms or anything else.

Lately, when I drive roughly 80 mph, depending on wind conditions, the truck makes a loud squeaking/whistling sound from the front passenger side. Has anyone experienced this? I've been watching videos about worn bearings and ball joints but the sound doesn't seem the same.

Anyone have any suggestions or similar problem?

    Thanks!

Only at that speed? And why so fast? You in a rush all the time?

It could be the plastics making the whistle. The squeak sounds like either the UCA bushing or the spring rubbing on something

Hahaha, I don't normally drive nearly that fast. Was on a 1500 mile cross country drive and it would make that sound during the drive.

I've noticed it mainly when it's windy and I turn the wheel lightly to the left, while going at higher speeds.

Thank you! I will look into the uca bushing!

When you turn? Could be the steering rack or the tie rods. Although I doubt the tie rods. The issue is, since it's at high speed when it happens, it's very hard to pinpoint where the sound is actually coming from. It may sound like front passenger side. But you'd be surprised how driving can change how and where you think the sound is coming from.

Try jumping on the truck up and down in different places while parked. Also try turning the steering wheel while someone is next to each wheel so they can look and listen closely

You sure it's not the kazoo sound from the weather stripping? Happens during crosswind situations. I've had my truck for for 15 years, and only heard it maybe twice, but it's a well known issue with these trucks.

Is it just speed sensitive or is it RPM sensitive? Does it do it in both 2 wheel & 4 wheel drive? Does the sound change in left or right turns? Does it change when you hit bumps?

Thanks, I think that's it! Did some googling after you mentioned it and came across this video. This is the same sound.

My 2023 SR5 squeaked bad from the rear leaf springs. It's a pavement princess and only has 7k miles. The dealer said the bushings were dirty so they cleaned them and the next day it was squeaking again. Now they are replacing all the bushings, springs and cab in all.
