I am looking to gain 100-200 horsepower by building the 2.4l engine naturally aspirated in a complete engine build. I would like to still be able to run pump gas. Not worried about gas mileage.

Forget about it. You could do high compression, cams, valve springs, etc and not hit the numbers you're looking for.

A freshly rebuilt stock long block with some arp studs and either a supercharger maxed out or a relatively mild turbo setup (10ish psi) along with some fuel upgrades would get you to where you want to be easily.

It's going to cost money either way though, parts aren't cheap or easy to come by used for the RZ engines. Expect to spend 4,000$ to get to 300hp.

Neat, post up your progress. I think you'll have difficulty (impossibility) finding 100hp N/A, even 12:1 compression and larger cam isn't gonna net you much more than a 20hp. I'd do some research on CustomTacos.com, lots of folks build up 2rz motors there. I slapped a supercharger on my 3rz and didn't even gain 100hp haha.

The go-to setup for 300hp is usually a simple single turbo set up.

Exhaust manifold is 300$ on eBay or you can get fancier ones for 5-800$

Turbo is usually a t3/t4 .63ish A/R. Precision 5431 is the best bang for the buck imo.

2.5" exhaust works fine, any exhaust shop should be able to handle it, pretty straightforward down pipe setup.

Then you'll need any intercooler, along with custom piping.

Fuel upgrades should include a new set of injectors, new fuel pump, better fuel filter set-up, possibly a new regulator if you're over running the stock one.

Then you need management of some kind. Piggybacks don't play well with the stock ECU on the RZs so most people go with an aftermarket standalone ECU. Over on customtacos guys are running haltech, arm, megasquirt, pretty much anything. Paradise racing has plug and play harnesses for haltech, KOracing has a full setup for HydraEMS. Pick your poision. Talk to whoever will be tuning your truck beforehand though.

Decide if you're going to be staying around 10psi before you build the engine though. If you want more you'll need some more ARP bits and a set of forged rods and pistons, (add roughly 1500$ overall.)

Companies that do turbo RZ stuff are hard to come by. KORacing dabbles in it, LCE dabbles in it, URD has a couple things, but Paradise Racing is the only company that does everything.

Any chance you could send me some links for a setup to run 10-12 psi

Go over to CustomTacos.com and read through some stuff, those guys have more knowledge than me and probably anyome on this site.in building RZ motors for power, there's ton of.different ways that you can get what you're looking for, but none of them will be 100 percent plug and play.

    The Bed is stock...ish

I'd love to see a running 3rz like this. Sounds cool! However, for us inspections folks, standalone ecus pretty much means it's a no go.... Correct?

No idea on that one. I'm 100 percent exempt from any emissions testing luckily.

You can make a stock ECU think it's doing everything for inspection, most standalones can spoof all the signals it needs, in some cases it can just think using the input side of the circuit and output to nothing.
