    Hey there,

I have a Pelfreybilt rear bumper for my 2nd gen with the swingout that I am in the middle of servicing. Long story short, I'm hoping that other forum members might have bits of information to fill in the gaps regarding part numbers that I have been unable to find so far.

If you are like me and have a Pelfreybilt rear bumper with swingout for your 2nd gen, you might need to find replacement parts in the event that something breaks or you decide (like me) to service it and clean it up best you can. There was a lack of information on what parts are needed, but I've compiled a list of parts that I found and (mostly) tested to verify fit. Hope that these can help you in the future, future person!

    Known Parts List

    Retractable Spring Plunger (Spindle-side)
Nose (pin) is 1/2" in diameter
    PN: 90222A116
    McMaster-Carr Link (Unverified)

    Retractable Spring Plunger (Lever-side)
Nose (pin) is 3/8" in diameter
    PN: 90222A112
    McMaster-Carr Link (Unverified)

    Thread-stud Bumpers (options)
    1/4"-20 x 1-3/4"
    PN: 9546K185
    McMaster-Carr Link
    Source: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/pelfreybilt-bumper-parts-needed.629695/#post-24941168

    1/4"-20 x 1-5/16"
    PN: 9546K118
McMaster-Carr Link (Fits ; very tight closing the gate, other one above might be better)

Note: Very tight when closing the gate; the polyurethane version was too stiff, so this will work with the Neoprene version. A shorter bumper might be best here.

Upper Tapered Roller Bearing + Ring
    PN: L44649 / L44610
    Amazon Link (Fits )

Lower Tapered Roller Bearing + Ring
    PN: L68149 / L68111
    Amazon Link (Fits )

    O-ring for Top Cap
    2-3/16 x 2 x 3/32 O-ring
    Amazon Link (DOES NOT FIT)
    From this thread: Pelfreybilt Off-Road

    2-1/4"x2-7/16"x3/32
    McMaster-Carr Link (Fits )

Note: Fits in channel around interior top of spindle above the tapered roller bearing.

    Dust Seal
1.719 in Shaft, 2.565 in OD, 0.500 in Width
    PN: 47333
    Amazon Link (Fits )

    Custom Gasket
    2-3/4" OD x 2-1/8" ID x 1/16th" Thickness (3/8" perimeter width)
    Amazon Link (Fits )

Note: This is a piece that was not included with the original bumper. I made this to sit between the spindle and cap to help keep water out. Not sure how well it'll work, but think it'll do the job.
    photo_2022-04-24_00-23-24.jpg photo_2022-04-24_00-23-21.jpg

    Cotter Pin
    1/8"x2"
    Amazon Link (Fits )

    Unknown Parts List
    • Top cap of spindle housing
    • Flat metal slide around spindle housing (suspect this is custom)

Thanks for reading and any help you can provide!

Relevant Pictures and a copy of the instructions from Pelfreybilt attached.

Got the tire gate back on over the weekend and was happy to see that the tapered roller bearings and the dust seal fit perfectly. Getting the raceways installed was a pain (first time doing it) since the tolerances were so tight. For anyone that has to do this, I recommend having something round, flat, and wide enough to safely tap along the edges without damaging or slipping off the edge of the raceway. Using a hammer, tap around the edge until it fully seats.

Unfortunately, the o-ring that I ordered didn't fit, so back to trying a new size and looking into making a custom-sized gasket to go between the cap and the top of the spindle. Also ordered some new bump stops since mine had long disintegrated. Will post a follow-up once those have been tried.

I know this is an older thread, but I figure it's worth a shot. I went about replacing everything in my swingout this weekend, ordered the parts listed above (super helpful, thank you!). The top bearing race went in super easy, but the the lower bearing race almost seems a little big. I didn't want to start to wailing on the bearing race driver to seat it all the way up. I had the same issue with the old bearing race as well. Anyone else have this issue?
