Hi im Joel I just bought a 2021 black TRD off-road Tacoma. And I'm in Western PA and I am looking 4 some places or trails to do some light off roading and then camp a night or two. My truck is completely stock but I want to see what it can do. If anybody knows of any places like that let me know. I heard there are some trails in the Allegheny National Forest, but I am unsure if you're allowed to camp out on those trails, and I looked up a video of it and the trails just looked like they were flat dirt..not very exciting.

where abouts in north pgh? you can camp anywhere in the ANF with no issues. and your correct. most if not all trails are just dirt roads. nothing real exciting. that said i dont know what your "definition" of wheeling is.

currently working on putting together a loop of semi aggressive roads and making a loop. last time i was dragging the wifes 4runner skid plate then got a flat.

as far as places to wheel to and camp and make a day or two trip of it i have found none our way. there is better riding towards the center of the state and south.

the allegheny sheneadoaha loop was good. it will try your driving is doable in a stock taco, just expect pin striping.

you may want to get on this thread with the rest of us locals. you should be able to find someone to hook up with that does your type of thing. i havent found anyone who is willing to destroy their rig.

I really appreciate the information. It would be cool to go on a camping trip with a group. But with the weather I don't know if I want my first camping trip to be freezing cold. But I have done a couple trips with Pittsburgh overlanders and that had been fun. It would be cool to meet you and do some wheeling.
