I have The Brite Box (keeps low beams and/or fog light on with high beams) installed in my truck. As per instruction you just connect straight to the battery with an in line fuse. Problem is, if I forget to turn the switch off, it'll drain my battery cause the fog lights stay on. Any simple way to power this through an add a fuse or some other idea maybe. Would like to be able to have them turn on when the key is in the on position or accessories and turn off when the ignition is turned off. Thank you for taking the time to read this and helping me out if you have an idea. Have a great Friday everybody!

Add a relay next to the fuse and run the wires for the relay contact to a switched hot. I don’t know where to find a switched hot but others might

Add-a-fuse to the Power Outlet fuse in the cab fuse panel.

Was hoping to use the fuse box in the engine bay since that’s where I have it wired to right now.

Be on the lookout for them to turn ON after vehicle is OFF for a few hours(If you leave the switch ON). The INJ Fuse is tied to the evaporator leak test. It runs for a few seconds.

So is there something else that I can use so that the lights don’t come on at all?

Yes, with an inline fuse holder and a fuse tap.
    https://www.vleds.com/way-37062.html
    Cheaper in other places...
Straighten the carefully the tap, remove the Battery Charger Relay, place the tap.
    Replace the relay.
Connector the tap to the inline fuse.
    Exit wire from below.
    Box has a removable cover.
Box is removed pulling straight up, firmly.

That's what I'm using for my heated seats. Works so far.
Toyota couldn't just have a nice easy to find, open "ACC" switched hot available in the cab and engine-bay fuse boxes. :annoyed:

Crap, didn't realize that. If it only heats them for a few seconds, should be fine.

Hi, what is an Add a Fuse? And did you come up with an easy solution?

i want to run a new ACC line out of the panel (for a) <2amp compressor fridge and b) ACC/Ignition On sending line for a DC-DC charger to a trailer).

Was thinking a ACC triggered relay off center console outlet, but still need to source/connect a power line.

but if you came up with simpler solution, please share

Remember that the add a fuse is directional. It needs to be installed in the correct orientation based on what side is hot without the fuse installed.

So if I want my lead to the left, I better make sure the hot is on the right?

Thanks! Gotta say, I really did not think it that far through. o_O
