Help me label this diagram I took of my front suspension on my 2 gen tacoma.

I am currently in the process of doing research to learn how to work on my truck myself. I know UCAs, LCAs, struts, etc. But I took a look underneath my truck today and I am embarrassed to say I am not 100% confident of the components in this picture. If you have a moment, can you help me label the numbers I placed on the picture?

Also, I know UCAs, LCAs, & strut/shocks can be upgraded, but is there a better option other than OEM for tie rods or rack & pinion/steering rack?
My truck handles so vaguely when on any surface other than pavement. Looking to change this. Also: 4 inch RC drop bracket lift installed, no other suspension mods have been done.
I am thinking that upgrading my ball joints, control arms and struts may be a good idea.

    1. Tie Rod. consists of an Inner (connected to the steering rack) and an outer (connected to the knuckle).
    2. CV Axle
    3. if you're referring to the bolt that passes thru, thats the sway bar link. if you're referring to the big chunk of metal, thats the steering knuckle
    4. ??
    5. sway bar

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
You say you have a 4inch lift on this
CV axles look pretty straight for a 4 inch lift

Probably because it's a drop bracket lift

@princeethetruth, #4 in your pic is the RC bump stops that replace the factory bump stops since they won't work with that lift.

Is there a way to get the diagrams of the front/rear suspension that they have at the auto shop?

That would help greatly in seeing all this more clearly

I too am learning my truck suspension + looking to upgrade it and need to sort this all out.

You can grab a field service manual online. I always keep mine handy as it has all digrams, torque specs and diagnosis processes for everything within the vehicle. Very helpful if you are starting to dig into your Tacoma..

@will.i.was I have one of the Chilton manuals that I keep in the truck, but I tend to find more detailed and useful information on here.
I am not good with electronic books for some reason - probably b/c I am just a total doofus -

@seedy_tea - those are the exact diagrams I was looking for; everything all blow up/separated out so you can see em!
I am looking for all the bits of plastic, bushings, ball joints, etc.. when I go to do this, I intend to replace every piece of plastic in the entire system -

Just remember, you'll never find an exploded view of all the parts of your suspension unless someone creates one, as your suspension is modified from stock. It will be close, but anything that was added or changed with the drop bracket lift won't be there or will appear different.

While I can't add anything factual or from personal experience, you may find some on here that will blame the vagueness in handling on that drop bracket lift. RC products don't seem to be highly regarded 'round these parts.
