Anyone have experience with carbon fiber? Can you recommend a brand of epoxy? I'm NOT looking for the very best thing out there, I'm not creating aircraft parts here. Low cost is ideal as long as it's got decent quality. Should have relatively good UV resistance.

West Systems. Having used many brands, I wouldn't suggest messing with anything else. no/low smell, predictable working times. Get the pumps for the cans- no measuring or weighing.

For reference, I don't make aircraft parts either. Just small odds and ends parts up to carbon RC sail boats... It would be easy to say weight is a factor, but the 6oz cloth is already way overkill for it. I use West Systems cause I know it's going work, and it's super easy to work with.

+1 for west systems...not the cheapest but the best...been using it on boats and cabinets for years...they do have a UV resistant version too...

    btw: I’ve had the best/longest lasting results by diluting the 1st coat 50/50 with Acetone...penetrates deep/adds more protection...have fun...Ric

West System only. Used East System once...must have missed the amine blush starting so the next rolled on layers peeled off under house hose pressure! That was a pain. The West system never had that problem. With the proper additives WS mixes up some bullet proof adhesives too.

Another fan of the West System, very versatile product.
