I decided to add another layer of security to my truck while protecting it from the elements. I would like to purchase an inexpensive, but yet a good truck cover for my Tacoma. I've learned through the years, that sometimes an expensive item isn't better than one of lesser cost.

My Tacoma is lifted 2.5 inches and has 285's on it. I do have a prinsu rack as well on top. Does anyone have a good recommendation on one that will git and isn't too expensive?

Long story short, got hit for my ditch lights and I would like to prevent this from happening again in the near future. So if I can cover the truck while it sits, I think that will help as well. I don't drive the Tacoma too often, maybe once a week and the cover will serve its purpose.

    Thanks in advance.

Covers for vehicles that sit outside can be a two edged sword...yes, depending on the quality of the cover you buy, they are good for protecting the finish from the elements and paint fading (and maybe hiding accessories). The flip side......water proof covers can allow condensation to form between the cover and the vehicle finish - not good for paint. Water resistant (breatheable) covers will "wick" moisture and "microscopic" dust particles through to the finish, over time leaving a dusty film on the finish. A cover not well secured to the vehicle will "flap" in the wind and can, over time, "scuff" the finish, especially edges. Your prinsu roof rack will likely "wear" through the cover, unless the cover is reinforced where it contacts the rack. Lastly, unless the cover has drain holes over the bed, after a rain, you will have a swimming pool over the truck bed. (removing a wet cover is a real PIA).
Just my experience, having covered dozens of vehicles, inside and out, over the years.

If you want a good cover it's going to be $$$. Covercraft will custom make what you want and has multiple fabric options. AFAIK CA car cover sells Covercraft manufactured covers as the fabric options are identical.
