My wife was not happy with the SR5 seats I found okay, but I admit the ones I believe in Sport and for sure in OR are superior. Upgrade package gets the 8 way electric versions both sides. Upgrade package in OR and I think Sport also gets you superior sound but there's a common SR5 package with JBL stereo.

The other matter is you need TRD OR to get electric locker. That's less important for a lot of people the way ABS and stability control help traction. Some of us do need that locker though. For examples, I'm a trail builder and ski area crew.

A TRD OR with upgrade package, inverter and mudguards is just under the $50,000 sticker. Some dealers discount that. The Kiss My Gritts and Toyota SmartPath can help you find those. Most of that allocation goes to Rockies and west coast states but we got one 44 mi from home, $2500 off sticker, and a $1000 better than any other dealer in region trade.

FYI, all this is about a long bed that was a must. Same features in short bed were easy to find 15 to 150 mi from home.

Some reason I see a lot of these trucks in this color getting discounted .. I guess they don’t sell well … numbers seem good for how expensive these trucks are .

They offered me an ice cap white version with a blacked out tail pipe for $85 more. Think I’ll go with that just because of the color, but I’m happy with the price. Guess I get a 400 mile road trip right off the rip.

Where at? I’ve tried just about every dealer in the south east and this is far and away the best I’ve gotten.

That’s not a bad deal, but I think you can work it more.

Keep pressuring them to $25k financed OTD.. Tell em the wife said you got a limit

They’re swearing that’s the lowest they can go “already below invoice, just moving metal at this point…” I’ve never bought new, and thought Id worked em pretty good already. At the risk of sounding like a moron, is there a point where they’ll just refuse business? It’s a looooong drive to the dealer and I’d have to pull all that before heading there. Putting a deposit down tomorrow unless something else comes along. Think I could atleast get some weather tech mats or something?

Just to do your due diligence, If it were me I would take your OTD price and shop it around locally.($46,475.45). (I understand you are putting money down etc but for this purpose do not include the down payment and use the OTD)

You might consider getting financing pre approval before sitting down with the finance department so you will have something to negotiate the rate with.

If you are in a hurry do not buy a Toyota, unless you find the Toyota you want for the price you want.

If you need a truck right away go buy a Nissan, Chevy, or a Ford. Ford dealers have tons of F-150s at discounted prices. You can always buy a Tacoma when the right one comes along.

Edit, Ford was also doing 0% apr, no money down, no payment for 30 days. Ford don't care if you have money or not.

I just went into our local Toyota showroom and had them price me out a Tacoma with the employee discount (VSPP program). It came to about $4900 off MSRP which is the same no matter what model you purchased. They take invoice minus holdback minus attachment. If someone tells you that they got $5,000 - $6,000 off they got either a one off deal or someone had to meet a end of the month quota.

Find the Off Road model you like and see if you can get them down about $2,500 and I think you would be getting a good deal. One of our local dealers is taking $1500 off each one so if you could squeeze another $1000 out of them you may hit your target. Good luck!!

Looking at the payments for 60 months with 20k down and financing $26,475.45. The payments they are quoting between $578 - $618 put the interest rate at around 11% ($576 a month) and 14% ($616 a month). My credit union (Navy Fed) currently has 4.49% for 60 months putting the payment at $493 a month for 60 months. The interest rate you will qualify for will be dependent on your credit score and debt to income ratio.

There is an older book out there about buying a car new or used car that was written by a very successful car salesman. Google: "Don't get taken every time..." It's about all the tricks and fake stuff they do, and what goes on behind the scenes in the dealership and used car lots. I think that is where the "bring your spouse/ex-pouse/girlfriend/eccentric neighbor/the kids just given a bag of gummie-bears" etc and get in a fake fight.

It's a blast to read...so much so that I purchased a copy and it's on my shelf. I have used his tips every time since when purchasing new or used for the last 40 years.
