Looks like it would work on a Tacoma.

How about a big lockable plastic tool tub? I’m sure there are plenty of big tool tubs for stuff.

It could very well come to that, I'd just like to keep the bed free for loading up if at all possible.

Every chainsaw I ever had to cut wood always just went in the truck on top of the wood I cut.
For camping and such, a cheap battery chainsaw will do the trick and fit in a small space.

I figured if you need a chainsaw, you likely want to carry an axe, gloves, other tools and stuff to keep it company. A big, watertight, lockable, chain-able box seems to make sense for all that stuff.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people just didn’t steal stuff?

get a chain saw case then you can strap it down, and it always leaks in truck or garage so solves 2 problems

Well I ended up making the tundra mount work, I just cut the bottom off at an angle to match the bar guides that was it fit flush against the side of the truck and over the wheel well. Pretty happy with the results.

6112's/5160's with Deaver stage 3, GFC camper, Evo 10S and home-built bed drawers. Solar w/100 Ah battery.
I have a Dewalt 12" / 20v chainsaw and works very nice for cutting. Removed 3 trees from a trail just last week while deer hunting. I carry it in a plastic tray because the thing leaks bar oil pretty badly. Sent in for repair once already, still leaks.

I had a similar problem with my chainsaw bouncing around in my truck. I ended up getting a mount from a local hardware store, which attaches securely to the bed rails and has a locking mechanism. It’s worked great for keeping my saw in place even on rough terrain.

As for chainsaws, I swear by my Husqvarna 460 Rancher. It’s a beast of a machine, perfect for heavy-duty forestry work. Husqvarna is synonymous with robustness and longevity, making its chainsaws a favorite among professionals. However, some users have noted that availability of service and parts can be challenging in some regions.

When you're looking for the best chainsaw brands, it’s worth considering which ones have the best support in your area. The 460 Rancher has been reliable and powerful for my needs, though it’s always good to check on local service availability.

Make one, go to tjmax and pick up a few of those white deldrin plastic cutting boards, cut the sleeves for the bar, and a few spacers, then screw it together with SS hardware and a few counter sink holes. A few of the tractor sights have good ideas because people carry them on their tractors when on the farm..
    Just one idea I crossed
