I’m looking to buy a 1984 - 1988 pickup 4wd and don’t really know where to start. Most of the ones I find are really rough, or really overpriced. It wouldn’t be a daily, but just a project that would go off-road mainly. I found a 1988, but looks rough, but it’s cheap. https://lynchburg.craigslist.org/cto/d/lynchburg-1988-toyota-pickup/7388561213.html

here is are some pictures of the under carriage.

it look like someone has gone nuts with spray paint, but it’s hard to tell how bad it may be rusted.

I own an 86 2wd since new, it’s the best vehicle, easy to work on and a blast to drive. If I were to get a 4wd model it would be an 84 or 85 with a solid front axle.

    CL Photos look good....
Frame looks decent, Body looks to be in good shape. Do you know when it was painted and if they have photos of the work being done?

I asked and it was painted by the previous owner apparently. The lift and wheels and tires where installed by the current owner, but he said he didn’t have any pictures.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Your rough and mine are years apart I would suck that up in a second.

If your looking for perfect your going to pay.

May as well Focus your search on the American Southwest.

I have far to many of these trucks and 4Runners
