Ok so here’s the deal, I lifted my truck a couple months ago, everything was fine, alignment was done and everything seemed to be good. I then went ahead and replaced my lower control arms and when I went back to get another alignment done they told me they did the best they could but they couldn’t align it correctly because my tie rods were maxed out. So pretty much both of my tie rods are only screwed in about a 1/2” which I’m pretty sure can’t be good lol. Steering rack I thought was bad so I replaced over the weekend, still same problem. Thinking the lift and upgraded lower control arms maxed things out but how should I know. So my question here is, has anyone had this problem? Or what can anyone recommend me check or do at this point? I’ve been looking online and I’ve come across some long travel tie rods with Heim joints that I could possibly put on there but not sure if they’re too long? Does anyone know how much longer over stock the long travel tie rods are? Open to suggestions.

Here’s the long travel tie rods I’m looking at: Here’s a pic of the maxed out tie rod:

I have no advice except be sure to install cotter pins in those castle nuts on the rod ends before you drive. Good luck.

This was right after changing the lower arms, cotter pins were put in right after, but thanks lol.

Where did u get that steering rack.....I dont think that is the right one....
that one goes in the 5lug rwd.........
Your tie rods show look like the earlier post..'S' shaped......

And they're not inter changeable.....the inner thread size on the inner tie(4x4) is much larger.....like m15.....
so its not physically possible to put wrong tie rods on wrong rack.....5lug vs 6lug

It really depends on the shop and how long they will deal with working on it. One shop wanted 100$ for aligning my LT truck but I had one do it for 80$ within 36 mins

Guys I’m in the same boat did any of you guys ever get a good answer?! I just did a rack warranty swap but couldn’t get my extenders off so I surrendered them with the rack trade in. Now I’m searching the internet and can’t find jack for a gen 1 taco D; it’s a total chaos mid travel in the front
