Just a quick question. I have 1.5" wheel spacers I bought off of eBay, & im thinking about installing them sometime this week. Is it necessary for me to use loctite, would you guys recommend it? & just to add, i am probably going to be removing them later on.

You'll probably rub depending on wheels. Spacers make he arc of the wheels wider

@Aussiek2000 i was gonna go 285's on stock 16" rims. Would I need the wheel spacers? I have a 3" leveling kit on my truck. Trying to avoid rubbing and trimming. All in all, diameter of tire is 32.9 and width is 11.1. If that helps with anything

Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to put the tires on and see whats up. You may be able to get away with some minor modifications, such as a cab mount chop, maybe not. You might need spacers - and I am guessing you will. Only sure way to tell is to try and see. I would say, order the spacers and have them ready. Commit to the size and do whats necessary to make them fit.

Probably depending on your offset of your wheels!

For 285's on stock wheels, you need spacers to prevent rubbing the control arms on the inside. They will cause additional rubbing on cab mount/pinch weld/inner fender wells/fender flairs. (even with 3" lift) Better results with 3/4" or 1" spacers, but even those will still see rubbing on turns and suspension flex.

285's rub with 3" lift unless you never turn and never drive over anything except perfectly flat, level ground. Unavoidable fact.

You're going to rub unless all you do is drive on the street. This is lifted 3" and the cab mounts cut

I have a 2in front spacer and 285/70/17. My drive is hwy 98% of the time (daily driver to and from work). I did notice I rub on harsh turns at a good acceleration out of like a driveway. Also just noticed yesterday that I do rub when reversing into a parking space. Waiting a week so see if it'll show the rub marks so that I can make some cuts.

@Aussiek2000 I believe this truck has a 3" leveling kit, 1.25" spacer, and 285/75R16 nitto trail grapplers, with no rubbing at all. image.jpg

Those are AT's with no tread. And you wont know about rubbing until you go offroad.

Will rub when suspension flexed or full lock turn. Driven slowly on a flat parking lot....you MAY get away without rubbing. Used in real world conditions....it'll rub. Not my first rodeo.

I do not have experience will all tires, just most nitto / toyo in truck tires,
I sell these tires, i have sold over 200 sets, Nitto Trail grapplers are a mud tire, not as aggressive as there mud grappler, but still a mud tire, not trying to get in a pissing match, but i have mounted these heavy ass tires over and over, the terra grappler is there all terrain, and their new ridge grappler is the hybrid mud/all terrain, even in the link to the tires, it says mud terrain.....

@Clay7160 i always thought nitto trail grapplers were a MT as well, not an AT. Anyways, would a 285/75r16 fit on a 16 Tacoma with a 3" leveling kit, and 1.5" spacer?

And as I might add, I will be rarely doing any off road, because my truck is only a 2wd.
