Anyone else have this issue? Rotopax lock is seized up tight. WD-40 failed me.

I can see the rust. You're going to need a better lubricant than WD-40, which is not a lubricant.

Take a look at this and keep in mind that you don't want to damage the Rotopax plastic itself.

Try dry lube made for locks. Continue to spray and let sit. It’ll eventually work loose. Reapply every few months to keep from happening again.

Yeah, it had to be drilled out. Rotopax will warranty their locks for life so they sent a new one out after I confirmed the old one was drilled out. Easy process!

I bought the deluxe non locking mount for this exact reason. Made a steel cable lock to use instead.

Your original issue has happened to me with the locking pin I place on my boat trailer tongue. Aero Kroil fixed it once it seized up, but a lock lubricant like was posted above is your best preventive measure. Aero Kroil is just really good at breaking up a little bit of oxidation to unseize.

Hook78 , Thank you -Thank you!

My rotopax was stuck on the roof rack of my 4Runner. I knew it was going to suck if I had to drill it out. Thank god I found this thread. Aero Kroil saved the day! The hardest part was trying to get the stupid little straw into the spray nozzle! A couple of squirts and a beer later the lock popped right off!!!

Tonight I drink a beer in your honor!

Just got off the phone with RotoPax they only warranty this for a year now and only if you buy from them directly. I'm in Canada and bought on Amazon so they wouldn't help me. I hope your advice above helps. Thanks.

Late reply but here’s a trick from the Army we used in the Stan..put your graphite in work the lock several times then drip candle wax at an angle until its coated. If it keeps Stan dust out will work for the shite we have here too
