I LOVE the feature that lets you unlock the doors by just touching the door handle - with the fob nearby, or in your pocket. Since I often have my hands full, it is great to not have to go digging through my pockets for my fob to unlock the truck.

Well, I am sure about 99% of you already know this, but I just realized that you could lock the doors this way too. I found this by accident when I had hands full, was on the phone, distracted, and was mindlessly pawing at my unlocked door to open it, and it locked!

After poking around a bit, I discovered that you can lock the doors by touching the little indentation at the top front of the door handle.

This is such a minor thing, but it really makes me really happy. :)

I havent checked, but I bet the tail gate has a tiny dimple to lock the doors as well tucked next to the release pad.

I know for my non powered tailgate you don't get any lock/unlock ability at the tailgate. Only on the front doors.

I quite like this feature as well, so will chime in. The dimple to lock doors on the front of the handle actually has a second sensor under the handle in the same place, so a gentle pinch seems to work well. The unlock feature works just by gripping either front handle and after an extended grip (maybe two or three seconds) all doors including the tailgate unlock. I definitely wish the tailgate had similar sensors to unlock independently, but unfortunately, it appears to be linked with the doors.

That's cool. I guess I was in the 1% club. Now I am in the 99% club.

They're getting modern! Most 2016MY cars already had this. The only downside is don't keep your key in your pocket when you're washing your car. Even with the hose hitting it, it will lock/unlock constantly!

Yep! I now put the key fob in the garage when I wash the truck so the locks wont be activated.

I tested this when I got home today…
When locked, I can stand behind the truck and push the driver’s side tail light button and it unlocks and opens, same with the main tailgate release button. The passenger side did not work unless the whole truck was unlocked first.

@Bishop84 yep, it’s a little button to the right of the release button and it locks the whole truck.
