    A few things….
I ordered locked off-road front coilovers, smooth body rear and bump stops. I’m still waiting for the order but it’s tough finding many reviews on them other than the bumps which everyone seems to like. I spoke to the company several times before buying and read/watched every review I could find. Product is manufactured in Riverview Florida. Kit Cost is about $2k less of what it would be if it were kings/fox ordered from accutune. About $5800 from accutune vs $3900 from locked. Locked also valves “tunes” shocks per order.
So it will be an interesting write up when I get it all. Company sells out quick after every batch so I don’t understand why there are not many review (good or bad)…
Anyone have experience with locked products?

also to note: on the accutune “mock” order there were no bump brackets available to add to the order. Brackets would have to be purchased separately.

Locked Offroad makes their own shocks, did you ask them about the differences btw their shocks and other shocks like Fox?

    less overhead…?

The purpose of this thread is not to trash talk any company, product or distributor. just ask around about Locked products. I will write up my findings and maybe give a few guys another option or buyer beware. Just maybe “industry leaders” category has room for one more. I want to hear about all quality options, old companies and new…

Sweet Fox 2.5 alternative. Keep us updated.

I always hated those metal eyelets on the shocks, but I get that its part of the package.

I almost wish they sent poly bushings as a backup for future concerns. Maybe these will be more durable. Who knows.

Received ahead of schedule? Resi hoses don't leak out of the box? That right away puts them ahead of some of the "industry leaders"

It's interesting they require you to have limit straps to maintain the warranty: https://www.lockedoffroad.com/collections/2005-tacoma/products/toyota-tacoma-2-5-shock-package The warranty is twice as long as King's and Icon's, but half as long as Fox's.

Interesting those resis have cooling fins to radiate heat better, first time I've seen one like that.

Those are not fins, as they are nowhere near large enough to function and are merely just groves cut for asthetics.

even fins that shallow are at least doubling the outside surface area of the housing, and therefor doubling the rate of heat transfer. More than enough to make a difference.

King has something similar and it is described as a decorative thing, not a performance improvement. There is not a tremendous amount of oil that makes its way from the shock body into the reservoir to actually see a difference. Oil does not circulate in a remote reservoir shock. Fox has been doing some newer stuff with inline finned coolers for race applications, similar to adding a finned cooler on a steering system. All cool stuff, some are more performance based than others.

I’m still curious to understand the technical differences. There is at least one decent comparison of King and Fox shocks online.

It’s also a bit odd that you are comparing locked off-road lift kit prices to completely different accutune lift kit prices. One appears to be a manufacturer and the other a reseller. A better comparison would be between locked, king, fox, ads, etc. shock absorbers leaving out the other parts of the kit so that we are comparing apples to apples.

I didn't want to pick apart that comparison, but it's far from apples to apples. Would be nice for someone to do a write up on Locked Offroad shocks. Hard for most to do a fair comparison however

I guess what I meant is that comparing shocks to shocks via technical details would be a better comparison than a comparison of two lift kits with multiple parts from multiple manufacturers simply based on their prices on two different web sites.
