So I just bought 2012 taco 4x4 and I want a 3" lift. I priced 4WP And ORW and t he truck stop in San Diego.

The truck shop is a little less but I feel like this is a very important decision so I thought I would put this out there.

Naturally I want to save $ but I don't want to cheap out on my new baby. The truck stop was highly recommended by a friend of a friend and the other shops are obviously well established.

    What would you do..?

I had 4WheelParts in Moore OK do my truck and I'm VERY happy with them. Most folks on here bad-mouth them, but not me. They put on a 3” Procomp lift, 17x9 RBP 93R wheels with a 4.5” backspace, and 305/65/17 Procomp Xtreme AT tires.

Very serious about fox 2.5 fox w/ remote res. and new upper arms for the front and 2.0 fox w/ remote res. ( I hear using FJ Cruiser rear shock and re-valve it for Tacoma is the way to go) and the ICON Vehicle Dynamics 3-leaf “Progressive” AAL.

Nope, just some light trimming of plastic parts. It still rubs a little when I turn it all the way while I'm backing up. A little more plastic trimming will fix it.

Thanks. Those are AMP Powersteps. I had 4WheelParts install them. They are pricy, but my wife insisted on running boards and I didn't want them. This was a good compromise.

    Lots...see build
I had the truck shop install my sliders, and they did fairly well. They said they couldn't do a weld that they definitely could, but it all worked out in the end and they were super nice.
I had my front bumper and winch installed by ORW in escondido and they were really nice but it took forever to get the bumper shipped to them, then they had it shipped to the san diego store. From SD, it would have gone on a truck up to Temecula (right past escondido) and then back down to Escondido, but I was on a time crunch so I went down to pick it up myself. Then they took freaking 6 hours to install the bumper with the winch and they installed the winch upside down. Eventually I took the winch out and turned it around so that it fed correctly and the reinstallation took me maybe 2 hours max. Also, if you want to resell your old suspension parts, be sure to specify that you want all of the original hardware and parts back. I didn't and I had to ask for my original bumper and then realized when I got home that they didn't give me back the skid plate, so I had to go back the next day to get it back.
Long story short, ORW is nice and decent with prices, but I feel like the mechanics didn't really THINK about what they were doing. Needless to say, I will not go to them for future installations.

The Truck Shop welded my sliders on as well. I had no issues. I also had them do the cab mount chop and had Built-Right UCAs installed.
