You could build a couple of ramps from simple boards, but you would need to rig a way to secure them to the tailgate so they wouldn't push up once you started pushing the boat up them. If you just built an "L" with boards at the end such that the short leg faced vertically down, and the long leg laid on the edge of the bed, you could then secure that to the ramp boards by cutting the end of the board at an appropriate angle and screwing them together.

You probably have no clue what I'm talking about but I can totally visualize it in my mind...

The other option would be to put tension on the ends by using straps secured to, say, the hitch if you have one. That's how lawnmower ramps are secured.

A pulley system sounds way too complicated. It would have to hang from something.

How much does it weigh? Seems if you can get the front end up on the tailgate you could slide it in.
Looks to be 138 pounds. Can you lift 70-100ish pounds? If so set the front end up then push the back in.

    That's what I was thinking.

Or tie a rope to the front of the boat, get in the bed of the truck and pull it it. Then hop out and push it in the rest of the way.

138 pounds no gear, no motor, no fuel tank or battery. Add 150 pounds unless you unload every time you load the truck. Will it even fit in the bed? I had a similar one and it would not. Unless it goes in crooked. Forget any skid system then. I used a utility trailer when i had mine.

I'd put an end of it onto a furniture dolly. Then lift the other end up and onto the tailgate. Grab the other end off the dolly and lift/push into the truck. You'll also need an extender from the hitch to support the portion of the boat that is not sitting on the bed/tailgate.

Overall looks a lot easier than loading a 500lb motorcycle.

I foresee a back injury getting that thing out of the water and onto a tailgate. For your sake, save your back. Get a loading ramp and a dolly.

Depending where you measure, the inside of the wheels wells are only 42-45” wide. The boat is 49.5” wide so it would be sitting above the wheel wells. You’ll need a platform. Then you will still have half the boat sticking out the back. Even with a long bed, that’s like 4’ sticking out. It will work but seems sketchy.

Length = 123" (10'3"). Do you have a long bed or short bed?

Edit: Looks like shane100700 beat me to it.

it is 49.5" wide, so it doesn't really fit well (it would have to sit on top of the bed rails). Find an old utility trailer, as mentioned above. Check Craigslist. They go pretty cheap.

lol that's a functional system.... but I didn't see the boat in question until after, two people could probably lift that little thing

lol lots of things are “functional” and probably work great. I would not feel good about that system.

Of course I’m not a fan of those sled racks where the snowmobile skids are on the roof of the truck either.

you would be surprised how many people use those in b.c cause your not allowed to tow your boat behind your trailer haha.

Brilliant. That'll save almost 2 dollars at each toll booth. Then you can use those savings for an extra large soda and fries at the nearest drive-thru, a necessary convenience while you're waiting for the insurance adjuster because you just destroyed the nearest drive-thru.

lol I’m sure! Don’t know when the laws changed, but when I moved back from HI, I noticed everyone is driving around with a camper and trailer. Each towed behind the other.
