I'm want to set up me 2020 Tacoma(TRD Off Road, Leer canopy) for lengthy times away from home. I would like to spend the next few months for setting my truck up for 4 season truck camping. I have been inspired by YouTube series of a young fellow doing this in his Ford 4x4. He has put a lifted deck under his canopy with sliding shelves under the deck for his cooking gear etc and sleeps on top of the deck. I think boxes for my kit and a roll up foam mattress might work better for me because, I am a hunter and want to be able to put large bits of pieces of deer and moose, etc in the truck should the need arise. May be towing my utility trailer with my quad on occasion. Have mountain tent to add to set up as needed.I would love to hear from anybody who has tried this ( cooking set up? cooler /fridge, heating for winter camping, keeping clean/showering,security of your set up when you are away from camp, etc).
Oh yes, I'll be going solo almost 99% of the time as my wife loves comfort and my friends are all sane.I live in British Columbia so think up to 100 degrees in summer and 10 to 20 below zero in the winter.

I've spent up to a month at a time living out of my trucks (and a VW camper that I owned) on multiple occasions. Honestly it's become so trendy these days that most everything you could want to know is on some video or another. The one thing I will say though is I hate sleeping platforms- I want to be able to sit up and move around a bit in the back plus I'm not a young as I used to be and I'm a lot more beat up. The first time you're stuck in the back waiting out inclement weather and you want to sit there watching a movie, working on your laptop or reading a book you'll appreciate the space.

You'll have to figure out what works best for you though.
