I recently purchased a 2017 TRD Sport and I’m having what I think is an alarm problem?
Occasionally when a loud vehicle goes past my house, the horn (alarm) sounds. This has only happened 4 times in 3 months. Two times today.
I live on a very busy street, so it seems to be the decibels of the vehicle that sets it off, and I mean loud!
    Is this normal?
Also, what is the little green flashing light under the dash on the drivers side? I can’t find anything in the owners manual. Thinking alarm maybe?
    Thanks, Cathy

Took it to dealership today, he said it was part of the factory anti theft. The place I bought the Tacoma said it was aftermarket alarm that had been disconnected, and if the light bothered me, put tape over it. If it’s disconnected why the loud alarm.

Very incorrect. My ‘17 does not have a green led.

I agree that it is aftermarket.
I do not agree that it has disconnected. Follow the wiring harness from the green led and find it’s black brain box.

Do you have the glass break sensor? It usually says Toyota VIP or Toyota Sensor. I believe some versions had an enabled light. I believe there is a method for sensitivity setting. PM me if you need it and I’ll look for my paperwork.

Yup, add-on. Likely immobilizer or GPS tracker from dealership/lender. I’d trace the wires and figure out what it connects to, so you can get some advice on how to disable/remove. Photos will speak 1000 words.

EDIT: kinda hints at an audio/breakage alarm… tracing will uncover that as well.

Mine is the alarm from the dealer :notsure::notsure::notsure:

    Edit

@Ryzoes, you can adjust the sensitivity. Mine will pretty much only go off if someone breaks a window
