    Cost: $1,300 Total

I found a shop that does liquid wraps and wanted to try it out. I decided to use my Acura since it just sits in the driveway (like to take my Taco out more). The Acura had a lot of paint chips to it and I was looking to correct it since I was worried it will start rusting with it being out in the weather and all.
After calling some shops around, I found one that mentioned liquid wraps. Of course, I was intrigued/curious so I went ahead and got it done.

The purpose of the liquid wrap was to not sand/remove the paint. The shop had to detail the exterior and stop after taking a clay bar to the paint. After that, it was pretty much sprayed on like regular paint.

Here is the car being prepped with its original paint:

    After the first few coats:

I went with white with a hint of gold. The gold doesn't show when the sun is out, but at night, lights would reflect off of it with a slight golden hue. The intensity of the light corresponds with how much of the gold shows. The second image is the shop putting a LED detail lighting at max output right next to the paint.

The shop told me it'll last for 5 years or longer depending on how I keep it clean. You detail it as you would with regular paint and I have ran it through several automated car washes without an issue. I tried to see if I can peel off a corner and it's pretty hard to do. I called the shop back and ask how to remove it and they said you have to use a special chemical to assist in removing it. The price they quoted me whenever I decide I wanted it removed was $200.

It's been a year and a half now being outside in the rain, shine, or hail. I took it to multiple long-distance business trips as well (6+ hrs of highway driving). I am actually impressed with how it has held up and I have not had an issue with it peeling. I was thinking of doing it to my Taco (in a different color), but I just like the quicksand and changed my mind.

Overall: I am impressed. I do wonder how the original paint would look after removing it.

So it’s not the rough weird feeling like plasti dip right? What about chips scrapes etc, would it act as a paint saver?

I don’t mind silver sky... but I really prefer other colors.. just got one of those, cant pass up deals.

edit: what’s the place in your area? I can’t find anything other than shitty plasti dip

The shop called it Liquid Wrap. The actual stuff they used is a brand called AutoFlex. It's buttery smooth. Feels like a regular paint job. There hasn't been big enough paint chip for it to show the original paint so I would say it does help. I have scuffed it once, but not enough to go all the way through. The next day after leaving it out in the sun, you can barely see the scuff mark. You really have to look for it.

There are different colors. I chose the white cause that was what was in stock + the golden/silver flakes to give it a metallic golden pearl effect. The original paint was silver.

    Oh fuck yes, http://www.autoflexcoatings.com/us-applicators
Link to find if anyone by you can do this. Dude that’s sick, plasti dip is like the plastic bottle you’d smoke weed out of in high school. This is the grand glass genie.

Not really sure if its a different formula as the past if that is what you are asking.
I just YouTubed AutoFlex and that video was the top result. I did get this done around the end of 2018 so I would assume it is the same formula as the video since the video was made in late 2017.
