Looking to spray my bed shell. Has anyone used Line-x for their bed shell, or any exterior applications? Raptor liner is something that I have been thinking of using just wanted to see if anyone has used either/or. Im also looking at longevity of the product especially living in Phoenix, az.Let me know and if you can put pictures up of your bed shells. Thanks!

I raptor lined my fender flares back in September and they still look like I did them yesterday. Great product as long as you prep properly. Would look great on a shell I bet.

raptor liner ftw. did mine a few months back, i get compliments all the time. Bought 6qt w/upol sprayer on Amazon for 180. Used w/ my big air compressor at 80psi. only used 4qts / 2-3 coats. prepwork was pain in the ass. lots of sanding in all the nooks and crannines, then used a acid etching primer on certain spots. make sure you cover the entire truck in plastic, i did it when it was slightly windy and had sprinkles all over. Comes off with claybar tho.

this was after i sprayed. dried even. touch ups are easy. 6months and its held up so far. Do it. Buddy of mine got a quote from linex it was $1000 i think

I think all the 'Brand Name' products are good to go. A buddy of mine does it on the side, impeccable work. Prep is key. IIRC he uses Raptor.

EDIT: After a quick check, he uses Scorpion Products Bedliner.

I changed the air freshener to a new one, one time.
I Raptor lined my bed and fenders and the fenders look great but I haul stuff frequently and the raptor liner doesn’t stand up to a lot of scraping or metal being slid across it. My dads truck was line x and it is so thick and you can do whatever you want with it.

Raptor liner is the best. I used it on many of my trucks and is durable, looks good.

I raptor lined my bed and it looks just as good at Line X in my opinion. In terms of durability, Line X is better without a doubt. The raptor liner durability is pretty good, but it will chip if you use your bed to haul stuff often.

Yeah which kinda defeats the purpose of lining the bed haha i wish I line x mine. getting my dirt bike in and out has scraped it, when I had a camper shell it scraped it, and i raptor lined my tire swing out and it’s chipped from putting the tire on. Unless it’s insanely thick I think it’s too brittle. This is all prepped properly too not just slapping it on.

Brittle is the perfect word for it. I was meticulous with my prep work too.

That looks great! Pretty sure that’s the way I’m gonna go. Did you remove them from the truck to coat them?

Yes you definitely should remove them as well as the rubber seal too. I got new oem rubber seals afterwards.

they were originally plastidipped so I had to peel that off best I could. Then sanded with i think 120 grit, cleaned, adhesion promoter, raptor liner. I bought the kit from oriellys and used all 4 bottles.
