    Is this @kuffer14 again?

In seriousness though I've seen it done before. Dupont also makes a kevlar infused paint I've seen used before. It can look good but be prepared for an expensive and very heavy paint job. It adds a significant amount of weight.

I can’t imagine it adds much, i mean, it all fits in a 5 gallon bucket.

I talked with the guys who do it to jeeps here and the dupont kevlar stuff added at least 200lbs to the car and they said it was lighter than bed liner when applied the same. This was second hand so take it for what its worth. Had a few south Texas folks bed liner their lease vehicles to protect against mesquite trees and it apparently added a noticeable amount of weight.

It’s not anything close to the quality of factory paint and it’ll eventually come off, oftentimes water settles in spots underneath.

While I didn’t use Kevlar, I haven’t noticed a difference due to liner :notsure:

To find those people, you have to listen for the subtle distant cries of “SEND IT” and look for used armadillo helmets littered on the ground.

Right on. Like I said it was second hand info so mileage may vary.

I could be wrong too, I just can’t imagine it really adds much weight, like maybe a couple of pounds.

Or is there a way to put another coat of the factory paint and then some sort of protector/sealer on it? I have way too many chips for a 2 year old vehicle

Read about the difference in the product over traditional bedliners and note the color variety.

Lots of build pics to look at too.

Yes, I've seen linex jobs in person, and I personally don't care for them. Not that I'm a raving Monstaliner fan either, but to me it does look a bit better.

Either one is definitely a trail rig finish, not a mall queen.

It should add 60-80lbs at most.

The lineX site states: We spray exteriors around 65mils on average. At that thickness you achieve the tough coating you want and don't add a significant amount of weight. Less than 90 lbs on average for a full size vehicle completely sprayed.

"LINE-X will add like 500 lbs" - False, We spray exteriors around 65mils on average. At that thickness you achieve the tough coating you want and don't add a significant amount of weight. Less than 90 lbs on average for a full size vehicle completely sprayed. About as much weight as your cooler stocked with "sodas" and ice.
