Need help identifying a 12 V Hot and ground in the single connector to overhead console i. e. wires to map lights any help? IMG_0356.jpg IMG_0355.jpg IMG_0352.jpg IMG_0350.jpg IMG_0352.jpg

Do you have a Meter, that would help identify Power, Accesorry Power, and Ground

I have meter but pins so small, VERY hard to get contact. Hoping to get wire by color in conector. Also no rear view mirror power in utility model.

Some vehicles will still have a factory plug taped or glued to headliner even if it' not used. You might check under your headliner.

Also, if you cant get good contacts in small connectors, try sticking straight pins into the slots and measure off the pins without letting them touch each other.

Wrap paper clips around the meter's leads

Or use bread-boarding wire if you have any

    Many other things will work.

The back side of the connector. The contacts are often more exposed there for probing.

If that doesn't work, a hammer will. :dancingbacon::sawzall:

Where did you get the sun visors? I can't find any cheap enough to acquire.

went to LKQ. it was $ 50 and they had three trucks to pull from. It did have some dust that I think was from an air bag but it cleaned up easy

Damn YOU Toyota! Found two wires with 12+ volts in only harness in the overhead (pictured in 1st post.) However when the vanity lights grounds the circuit, either the overhead or map lights up, only about but 85% lighted. but do not want to stress anything so for now NO Vanity lights by the mirror!

Any luck with powering the vanity lights? I also have the utility package and am looking into acquiring the vanity visors with lights; I just want to make sure it's possible to run power to them. Thanks!

I had the idea to use a slim profile recharable 12v battery mounted in the upper console panel to power the visor mirror lighting. With LEDs in the mirror shouldn't drain to quickly and when it does, just charge it overnight. Any thoughts? Tell me why I shouldn't do it.

Power is constant 12 Volts, Accessory Power would only have 12 Volts with the key in the "On" position.

I never use my mirror/vanity light so I didn't know that it is a Thing. I do like the way the sun visor is on a slide bracket, though.
