    What's up Tacomaworld,

Been doing some research on wheels and tires and am looking at going with a tall/skinny tires in the size of 255/70/17 combined with a lighter wheel. This size tire is just a little smaller in height than 285/70/17's and has less width. So it will still fill out the wheel well almost as full as 285's but will weigh less and have less road friction being narrower resulting in better MPG along with some other advantages skinny tires offer.

Anyways with the new wheel offset on the 4th gens the wheel selection has changed for 4th gen Tacomas and many manufactures/brands are still in the R&D phase of adjusting prior gen Tacoma wheels to the new specifications.

One wheel company I reached out to was Stealth Custom Series Wheels regarding lead time for the 2024 Tacoma wheel and they said the following:
"Yes, we're currently working on new specs for the latest Tacoma/4Runner/Land Cruiser/GX550 and Tundra 6x139.7 bolt pattern.
Unfortunately, the lead time will be ~6+ months away. We'll have more info available late summertime"

Some lightweight wheels I found for the 3rd gen that will hopefully transfer over to 4th gens once the offset is adjusted some of them are:

Would love to hear if anyone has any recommendations on some light weight wheels that will work on the 2024 Tacoma that are currently available or if you currently have them on your truck please post up your set up.

FN will be releasing their new wheels later this summer and are super sharp - I run these on my 3rd gen and love them - great reputation.

Ahh used to run FN wheels on my 3rd gen and loved them, great wheels. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Wasn't aware of these, thanks for sharing. I really like the look of the Cinch W105. I couldn't find the weight on their website. Mid 20's for weight is pretty good but I'd personally like to shoot for something in the low 20's.

Those are pretty slick too, I have seen a few guys running these before.

I will be sure to add all these to my list for lightweight wheels, thanks for the references. Please keep them coming.

There was a 3rd gen post on lightweight wheel options with an excel spreadsheet that was very informative. I didn't save the post but I saved the link to the excel doc if anyone wants to see it. Now we just need one for 4th gens.

Never heard of those wheels thanks for sharing. Are you running 285/70/17s?

Yeh the Volks TE are lightweight but heavy on the wallet. Same with the Titan 7's

Fast is a Canadian company that makes high quality wheels.

Yes, those are 285/70R17s, they’re running a true 33.0” diameter.

I'm in the same boat. Didn't want to wait around and ended up getting Method 316's since they are relatively light weight at 25 LB+/-. One day I would like to change to something lighter but have never had Methods and always thought they look good and are reputable wheel company.

After doing a lot of research I ended up going with

    - 255/75/17 Kumo AT52
(this tire is only 38 LBs+/-. This size tire is taller than a 265/70/17 but shorter than a 285/70/17. My other top pick would have been the Firestone Destination XT in this same size as they weigh about 40 LBs and still look aggressive. However, I wish there were options for a light weight all terrain tire in the size of 255/80/17 because this would fill out the wheel well gap as well as a 285/70/17 but would be lighter, less rubbing, and less road friction but overall am happy with the 255/75/17.)

    - Readylift 1.5 Level kit upfront

    - Method 316 25MM Offset.

There is still a slight rake but for now since there aren't many other lift kits that will give you 1.75 or 2 inches to where the front is just a hair higher than the back but eventually will put Bilestien 1500's on when they come out with the adjustable front shocks.

I plan on taking better pics in the light eventually but to anyone who wants some reference on a set up here ya go.

    That works!

I considered tall skinny as well, but ended up going with 285/70 KO3's for weight and reviews. Very happy so far. I decided to go with +25 offset for just a "little" poke. They give me 1" on the OR, which I think is perfect, but added a bunch of PPF just in case.

Haven't added a lift yet, and not concerned about the rake because of the weight I plan on adding, as well as towing. I'll decide after about a lift, probably a Westcott.

Would like to know how far outside of the fender the tire sticks out (if any) with +25 offset and 255/75/17's? I have the same size tire and trying to keep the tires flush.

Method 703 with +35 offset, 25lbs per wheel, less poke, my understanding 1", looks better too....
black rhino has a similar wheel & offset, cheaper than methods.
Yes, been researching as ill be stuck with some gay 18" sport wheels shortly....
My best bet is to get some bigger tires & close my eyes & get use to them...
    We shall see...

Understood. Trying to keep the tall skinny tires flush though. It gets more challenging trying to find a 8 inch wheel in dark bronze with a 25-35 offset. Hopefully the new year will bring more options.

Method has a few options in bronze from +35-+38.
    Wont be flush, slight poke.
If you want factory flush look need 50+, that is available with trd wheels through toyota, or REPLIKA wheels, none will be bronze...
Me personally out of all the stock wheels between sr5, sport, offroad, I like the sr5 wheels best...
Powder coat them black, & good to go...
Wont look any worse or better than some basic methods.
But that wouldnt be cool enough for most...

Those Blaze 10s look awesome. They remind of the old Jeep Cherokee XJ pizza wheels. I think I'll get a set of these, thanks man!
