I'd start by calling Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road. Even if she doesn't have the parts, she may well know who would.

All I can suggest is to be careful. Fairly rust free examples of that model are pretty popular in stockish form. Think twice about changes that aren't 100% reversible.

If it's in good shape, find some parts and convert it to 4X4. A good Hilux is priceless

Sell it, buy a 82 to 85 4x4 with factory solid axle. There's tons of parts for those year. Or just buy a 85! You'll get the BEST of both world, 22RE EFI and factory solid axle. It's like going to bed with two beautiful women at the same time

Leaf spring lift the front and rear, add a 4.7 doubler with 37 and your unstoppable...

Home made body lift is probably your only option.

    Good luck

You can probably modify a Blazeland or dare I say Total Chaos kit. The suspension would be worth way more than the truck itself though. Anything is possible but you'll need deep pockets. Can I ask why modify a 40 year old truck with little or no aftermarket support?

OP, old Toyotas are not really for those who are looking for a project to build from commercially available parts. Generally speaking, you will have to hack and fab your way to your desired results, as well as bastardize your truck with parts from all kinds of makes and models until you find something that works.

Your other option is to make a new account at P4x4 and ask away all the questions you need answers to on this build.

He'll be burned alive on P4x4. Won't last a day or two with All the smart answer and cursing.

It's a rough country with large rock to climb there

I had an 89 & 94 pick ups. The suspension needed for lift is torsion bars & UCAs. We used to run 3" body lift with that set up. For the rear you can do the normal add a leaf or shackle. If you cut front fenders or run glass, you can run a 32/11.50/15. Also you can run a ball joint spacer instead of the new UCA to save a few bux.

89&94 suspension are completely different from 80 2wd. Those year are possible, not for early 80

So what does the front suspension have and what year did it change? I believe all the 2wd early and late 80s had torsions.

I could be wrong but I think torsion bar was use between 1984 to 1995. I had not see any early 95.5 taco with them here in California.
