I lifted my truck on icon stage 3 coilovers roughly 2.5 front 1.5 rear. I noticed both front lower control arm ball joint boots are rip why is that and how can I fix the problem from happening again?

Did someone use a pickle fork to separate the spindle from the control arm?

Installer error as said above. Don't use a pickle fork if you intend to reuse the ball joint.

I'm lifted 2.75" in front on Icons; the lower ball joints still have plenty of travel.

Can you post a picture? I've not seen ball joint boot issues when doing such a small lift/level before.

As far as the boots themselves go, Toyota doesn't list them separately for the Tacoma, so you'd either need to replace the control arm, the ball joint (aftermarket only), or try another vehicle's boot and see if it will be close enough to work. I suggest starting with Toyota boot 43345-69025.

Never mind guys lower ball joints are good I think they were just squished from the pressure of the lift greese was coming out both was fine. But I still replaced them with a moog the boot is more inward into the housing of the ball joint great product

I might have to replace the ball joints on my LCA and I read you replaced yours with Moog? Did you end up pressing the stock ball joints out and pressing the Moog ball joints in? Can you describe that process, was it difficult?
