I have been researching trying to get a lift kit for my tacoma which is an Xsp-x model but from my understanding is basically an SR5 edition. Upon lookking on Rough Country and one other website they have said they do not carry kits for the XSP-X model. Does anyone know what seems to be the problem and where to go to research for the kit.

I have been researching also and i am having the same problem. I just spoke with a guy at rough country and he told me that the suspension on the xsp-x is different than other tacoma models.

Someone else can hop in here and correct me if I'm wrong, but the xsp is a dealer installed package, not a Toyota package. That means the dealer gets a stock truck, changes a few cosmetic things, slaps a couple stickers on it and calls it some sort of "edition". This would mean that your suspension is the same as every other SR5.

I hope someone else can confirm this.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what someone else who has lifted one says. In my hours upon hours of researching a lift, I never once came across anyone mentioning anything about them being any different.

That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't an issue though. Now I'm curious.

Yea, but you get lots of baubles for that $. And the dealer installs it for you. :D

Spotted one a street over from me the other day. Nice clean example, but a bit gaudy for my taste.

Like already said. It's just dealer added stuff. Any kit you find for 2005 and up tacos will fit just fine

After several hours on the phone with several dealers in the area and rough country themselves i still do not have a reliable answer. All of the salesman say it is a port installed option meaning it leaves the factory and goes to Jacksonville and they install the fender flares, led lights, wheels, etc. Then it is sent to the dealer for sale. They all say that the suspension and frame is identical to the SR5. Then i call rough country, because every lift they have on there website says "Does NOT fit xsp-s". They say that the struts are more of a heavy duty strut and you cannot install there kits as it will damage the truck. They also said that the struts give the truck a little more lift similar to a Baja model. I am not too experienced with lifting a truck and the parts and mechanical work done. Hell all i want is a simple level. I have looked at my 2014 xsp-x from every angle. It is in no way lifted anymore than another base tacoma. Either the salesman are liars (obvious statement) or the people at rough country are idiots. I tend to agree with the rough country folks considering they are trying to sell a product and they would not say that there lifts cant fit a certain model for no reason. Sorry for the book post. Im pretty tired of trying to find this answer. Roll Tide

BTW i did confirm that it is not a dealer option. It is a port installed option. What difference does that make? Who the hell knows

@infantryman or @tacomaXSP-XBama can either of you take a picture of your front suspension and post it on to here? Might make it easier to determine what's so special about your front end.

Give Downsouth motorsports, Toytec, and Wheelers Offroad a call. all of them can get you set up easily.

Seriously stay away from the rough country.
