First post so I'm sure I'll catch some flak, but I've tried looking for this and really haven't found the answer I've been looking for.

The different models obviously had different suspension heights, as my 4x4 SR5 is much lower than a TRD OR. I understand the suspension travel is the same, no matter the model, or the lift.

With that out of the way, when a coilover says 0-3" of lift, which model is that taken from? Or how is it measured? As 3" of lift on a TRD would seem more like 5" on an SR5.

Hope I didn't lose anyone on that?

Asking this as I only want to bring my truck up about 1.5-2" to space out 265/75 tires better and I've seen some Fox coilovers that are 0-2" (on DSM's site) which would be perfect for what I'm trying to accomplish.

    Welcome to TW!

All 4x4 and Pre-runner 6 lug models are the same suspension ride height. 4x2 5 lug trucks are less, and Baja/Pro trucks are 1.75" higher than 4x4 up front.

Impossible. If I put 265/70R16 on my truck (with 245/75R16) it wouldn't look anything like a TRD OR. The shock/coil combination must account for something of a change.

So a '2.5" ' OME lift is 2.5" to which trim level?

The only difference is between 5 and 6 lug trucks, not trim level.

A 3" lift will lift a truck 3" regardless. If for any reason your truck is lower (which if it's a 6 lug it's all the same) it will lift your truck 3" from where it is currently, as the shocks are the same size on all models. (With the exception of TRD Baja/TX/Pro as mentioned above) If your suspension is sagged due to age (like my truck before my lift went on) you may see more lift because the truck is starting lower than stock.

Truck has less than 80k on it, but maybe its sagged a bit? I guess it just seems like the tires are much more stuffed than what they are on the others.

Well if you have 265/75 tires as stated in opening, those are larger than stock, so they would fill up the wheel well more than other stock trucks.

265/75 is what I'm aiming for. Currently have on 245/75, but they seem much more tucked in and closer to the bottom of the flare than the 265/70 of a TRD

The stock 265/70R16 filled the wheel wells on my TRD OR pretty well pre lift.

You suspension is probably sagged. If there's any difference in ride height it's because of how tired or overloaded the springs are, they all leave the factory at about the same height. Over time the height probably changes since the SR5, OR and sport don't have the same springs so perhaps the progressive OR springs don't sag as much over time.

The difference in sizes isn't that great. A 265/70R16 is only 0.5% larger than a 245/75R16.

Good to know. Always seemed like more of a difference.

    Appreciate the info!
